No two days are the same at Pakeke Centre and over the period of the month you will have the opportunity to be involved in and enjoy a range of activities. This includes Brain Train with stimulating quick quizzes and physical movement(no sitting for any length of time)
Activities range from indoor games such as bowls and word games through to visits from other groups such as the ‘Paul Hunter Centre’ for competitive events and outings. We also meet regularly with support groups in the region such as Age Concern, Stroke Group, Arthritis Society etc and have very interesting speakers from tales from travellers to heads of Organisations. A generous morning, afternoon tea and lunch are served each day.-No dishes for anyone (thats got to be good.
Our monthly outings are varied and we visit all local places of interest. One day it might be going to Dannevirke with a picnic lunch to enjoy eating at the park with a stop off at the Warehouse for a shopping trip or it might be a visit to the Norsewood environs with lunch at the local hotel.
The Centre is open on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8.30am – 4.30pm.

Suburbs/Districts/Towns Serviced We will pick up from the wider Waipukurau district including Waipawa, Otane, Takapau etc. We generally co-ordinate the programme so that we pick up in the same general area on set days.
Pakeke Centre is a Day Club not a Drop in Centre. You are however welcome to call in and visit us and see Pakake Centre in operation. We will then arrange a time to come out and visit you in your own home so that we can set up the service for you.
Please feel free to talk to the manager about your needs. If we can not help we will refer you to an appropriate service.
Pakeke Centre has a contract with the Hawkes Bay District Health Board to provide Day Care. This means that for those who have been assessed as requiring day care the service is free. For those who are privately paying the cost per day is $12. The cost covers transport to and from the Centre, activities, outings once a month, morning and afternoon tea and lunch.
While there is a small cost for those who pay privately this contribution is supplemented by the funding we receive from our various funding bodies.

Our Philosophy: We aim to provide care and support in a safe, caring and stimulating environment.

Enliven restorative home support is a DHB funded positive ageing service enabling older people to receive care and stay in their own home. Access is through your GP or Options Hawke's Bay.
Enliven restorative home support is about a partnership with the client, and working towards a specific goal, determined by the client to keep them in control of their own destiny.
The service includes practical day-to-day needs, emotional support and client encouragement.
Special Features One of our health professionals develops a personal program to help a client achieve their goals. A key support worker then helps deliver the program, which is individually tailored to the client's needs.
There is no fixed list of services. Our staff work with clients to develop a service package based on their changing needs and what is important to them.
We want to make sure that the service we offer is what our clients need in order to stay as independent as they want to be, and feel great about it.
